My Last Watch
I have consistently seen individuals on LinkedIn in the wake of leaving a job write stuff such as “Watch out for my next adventure”. I cringe every time I see such posts now imagine the hypocrisy in me writing this. I recently spoke to a friend who explained the advantage of showing my work, particularly in light of the fact that it might be harder for individuals to be familiar with your work on the off chance that you don’t point them towards it. I have consistently and would continuously be an adherent that great work would justify itself. So, forgive my hypocrisy as I attempt to show my work and write about my “next adventure” lmao.
Growing up, I have been unable to completely define what a career resembled for me. All I always knew was I wanted to make a difference, I needed to make an imprint wherever I found myself. With this mindset, I have found myself working in different places, gaining numerous experiences which doesn’t necessarily lead to me scaling up the career ladder. More recently, I started leading the Marketing Team at AVA Energy. AVA Energy is an Energy recruitment firm in the UK and despite my experience in advertising, this is such a unique role and requires a different level of knowledge and grit to make it work (I wrote about it here). I got into the role with the mindset to make a difference and boy I did. I got the rare opportunity to define the brand growth, assets and everything about the brand. There were no templates and got the opportunity to build the brand from the ground up. It was such a fulfilling experience for me as the role required me to foster new abilities to harness all the opportunities to grow the brand. I am super grateful that during my time, I was able to make a tremendous impact, leaving an extraordinary impression looking into the future. (Here are some feedback)
The Next Adventure
Lmao. I have no clue what the next adventure would look like which can be a bit unnerving but I am more excited to figure out and attempt new things. I am currently working on starting a new content company that focuses on telling impactful and significant stories and making a difference. The aim is to create content or marketing materials that spotlight causes or organizations addressing different issues across the world. I realized how this brings together my experience in Marketing, Advertising and my passion for engaging in impact projects. Be that as it may, regardless of where the wind of life takes me, I am determined to continuously make a difference and leave an enduring impression in the sands of time and the world in general.
